Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” This quote motivates me to stay on track and reminds me always to create a safe and warm therapeutic environment to enable change and personal growth.
When I qualified as a social worker BSW (Hons) I started working at Weskoppies psychiatric hospital,  and quickly realised that mental health was a field I found most interesting. Working in a multi-disciplinary team was enlightening and resourceful, I enjoyed learning from other professionals and working in a team.

I worked mostly in the forensic ward with adults but quickly felt the light from the adolescents and children’s wards drawing me nearer. I discovered that my Social Work degree was only the beginning of what I needed to help people. I craved knowledge and extra skills to work with young people. So I enrolled myself in an advanced play therapy course. Last year I decided to further my studies once more and started a BA in Criminology.

I provide counselling for clients in the mornings and afternoons, please feel free to contact me at any time should you feel the need. I specialise in play, individual, family, group and marriage counselling. I feel this is the right time where I can combine my passion for people and my love for horses. I am truly excited to extend my expertise and exciting journey. I hope to become a respected builder, leader and member of this interdisciplinary team to in-able and instill a shared sense of purpose to provide optimal services, resources and programs for my Equine Awakening clients. I am deeply committed to improving the quality of life for my clients, with a special interest in providing therapeutic horseback riding.
